As global climate issues intensify due to human activities, the impacts of climate risks and crises are expanding, leading to unprecedented environmental and climate threats to human society. In recent years, with the increasing importance of environmental and climate issues, topics and research related to global climate governance and carbon neutrality have become the focus of attention from various parties. Climate governance is marked by significant complexity, diversity, and interweaving with multiple issues. Therefore, global climate governance is not only about the governance of climate change but also involves the cooperation, competition, and development of national/sub-national/non-state actors at multiple levels.
Young people, NGOs, and businesses play essential roles in climate governance, exhibiting unique functions different from any other international issue. However, questions arise: How can the youth engage in climate governance? How can they effectively voice their concerns on different platforms and make an impact? How do NGOs and businesses gain insights and lead developments in different issues/industries/fields? How should they perceive the relationship between their climate engagement and policy development? Climate governance and carbon neutrality, on a macro level, concern global governance patterns and national strategies. On a personal level, it requires serious consideration of practical ways, how to maximize individual climate ambitions, and the persistent commitment to these efforts. The aim is to gain insights and bring about more inspiration and change by starting from individual climate engagement and observations to understand real-world climate participation and practices.
